Schiphol tests Apple Watch together with travellers

Summary
Amsterdam Airport Schiphol will launch an Apple Watch app for their Schiphol Privium members. Their official Schiphol app already has more than 1.5 million downloads and now will be complemented by an Apple Watch app for some of the passengers. Both apps are developed in association with M2Mobi.

The first version of the Apple Watch App is especially developed for Schiphol Privium members and just a happy few had the honour to test the Watch app.

The Schiphol press release reported:

Schiphol Privium is the service program of Schiphol: Privium travellers have advantages that provide for speed, comfort and priority during their journey through Schiphol.

During the test period, participants get an Apple Watch from Schiphol which they use during their trips via Schiphol. The app offers travel information and extra functionalities including personal flight information and notifications which helps the travellers during their departure process. In collaboration with Schiphol, M2Mobi analyses and monitors the usage of the app by the Privium members. During the test period they will also ask the group of travellers to think about possibilities and improvements for future versions of Smart Watch App."

The pilot was launched on June 8, 2015 and will last for about six weeks.
